The warm night was so still, it was almost as if the whole forest knew what was about to take place.
Cassie sat still with her hands still draped across the keyboard, trying to remember. The idea was slipping away, she was forgetting more every second. Her eyes blurred as her focus slackened. The bright computer screen cleared as she shook her head, forcing her mind to stay awake.
Think. Remember. This is important. But nothing came. She glanced at the clock. It was two in the morning. Cassie sighed, slumping back into her bed. It was the dream she was waiting for, the one that would inspire her to start writing again.
"Everlight," she whispered into the night, "her name was Everlight." Sleep then quickly took over her.
